Taxi Cab Collides with Ambulance on West Jefferson Boulevard in Playa Vista, Killing Passenger
PLAYA VISTA, CA (December 30, 2019) – On Saturday morning, a collision involving a taxi cab and an ambulance killed a passenger who had been in the cab. The December 28 incident occurred on West Jefferson Boulevard in the 13200 block.
The time was roughly 8:20 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Reports say the Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance had been en route to an emergency, with lights illuminated and sirens sounding. The ambulance was struck by the taxi cab, according to reports.
Responders attended to the person who had been traveling as a passenger in the cab. The victim died at the incident site. The victim was identified only as a woman 60 years old. Her name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the taxi, and the personnel who had been in the ambulance were transported to the hospital. The current condition of the people is not known.
The identities of the taxi cab driver, and the driver of the ambulance, as well as other personnel in the ambulance, have not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand why the collision occurred.
