San Diego Pedestrian Struck and Killed near Point Loma
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 13, 2021) – On Tuesday night in San Diego, a person who had been walking across the street in the neighborhood of Roseville/Fleetridge was hit and killed by a vehicle. The May 11 incident occurred on Rosecrans Street in the 1400 block, close to Hugo Street.
The time was roughly 8:45 p.m., Robert Heims said. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
Reports say the person had been walking within a crosswalk when the vehicle–which has not been described–struck him. Responders arrived to help, but the person died at the crash site.
His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle was identified only as 21 years old. The driver’s name, gender, and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working on the details of the crash to understand how and why it happened. They are continuing to collect information.
