1 Dead in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash Oxnard
Oxnard, CA (May 14, 2024) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Cooper Road and Grant Avenue, according to Oxnard police.
The incident occurred around 5:31 a.m. when a dark blue Nissan Sentra, under unclear circumstances, struck a man who was in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving behind moderate damage to the license plate above the rear bumper.
Victim Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene
Emergency responders arrived shortly after to provide medical assistance, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released by authorities.
Local police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information that could help identify the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run. Anyone with information is urged to contact the OPD at 805-385-7600.
