Oxnard Man Fatally Struck by SUV on Fifth Street

Pedestrian Struck and Killed by SUV on Fifth Street Near Rose Ave.
OXNARD, CA (February 16, 2025) — A man was killed in a pedestrian accident early Sunday morning, February 16, on Fifth Street near Rose Avenue.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the fatal collision occurred just before 5:00 a.m. when a Honda Pilot traveling eastbound struck the pedestrian, who was walking outside a marked crosswalk.
Victim Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene of the Accident
The impact caused fatal injuries, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his identity, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the SUV, a 29-year-old Oxnard resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Investigators stated that excessive speed and impairment do not appear to have played a role in the crash.
