Boat Crash in Channel Islands Harbor Causes Injuries In Oxnard, CA

OXNARD, CA (October 3, 2022) – Late at night on Saturday in Oxnard, a boat crashed at the Channel Islands Harbor and injured a number of people. The October 1 crash occurred near a harbor wall, reports say.

The time was a little after 11:15 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department said.

A boat, which has not been described, was reported to the Channel Islands Harbor Patrol as a vessel in distress, but the nature of the problem has not been reported. It is not known from reports what led to the crash.

It is also not clear from reports what the boat struck.

Responders from Ventura County Fire Department arrived on scene to help the victims. They transported several patients to a hospital.

The exact number of people injured is not known. The types of injuries suffered, and current conditions of the patients have not been reported.

No one involved in the crash has been identified, including their names, ages, genders, and cities of residence.

Crews towed the boat from the crash site.

Investigators are at work to collect details and information about the crash in order to understand why it happened, and what may have contributed to it.
