Santiago Canyon Grade Road Crash in Orange County Kills Bicyclist
ORANGE COUNTY, CA (November 16, 2020) – A crash in the afternoon on Sunday in Orange County killed a bicyclist. The November 15 incident occurred where Modjeska Grade Road and Santiago Canyon Grade Road intersect.
The time was roughly 4:00 p.m., according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
According to reports, a bicycle and a vehicle collided, but the manner in which the collision occurred has not been described. It is not known from reports the line of travel each vehicle had been pursuing prior to the crash.
Responders were called to the crash site, and a found a woman who had been injured, according to Carrie Braun. Braun is a public information officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Responders transported the patient to a hospital in the area. She died from her injuries.
The victim’s name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle–which has not been described–stayed at the incident site. The identity of the driver has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and the factors and circumstances that may have been related to it.
