Pedestrian is Struck and Killed on State Route 76 in Oceanside, CA
OCEANSIDE, CA (May 16, 2022) – Early in the morning on Saturday in Oceanside, a pedestrian died after a vehicle struck her. The May 14 crash occurred on State Route 76 close to where Benet Road is located.
The time was roughly 4:30 a.m., Oceanside Police said.
According to reports, a person who witnessed the crash said the woman was trying to walk across State Route 76 when the light was red. A vehicle–which has not been described–was going west on the roadway, and it hit the pedestrian who was in the middle of the intersection, reports say.
Responders pronounced the victim deceased at the crash site. Her identity–including name, age, and city of residence–has not been reported.
The person who was driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver is not known from reports.
Investigators are working to gather details and information about the crash. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can call Oceanside Police.
