Crash on I-5 near Camp Pendleton Kills One Person in Oceanside, CA
OCEANSIDE, CA (July 20, 2022) – Early in the afternoon on Sunday in Oceanside, a crash on I-5 killed a person. The July 17 crash occurred near Camp Pendleton, on the southbound side of the freeway.
The time was roughly 2:09 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Two vehicles were reported to have collided, but the way the crash happened has not been described.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash may have been a minivan; a description of the other vehicle was not reported.
Good Samaritans came to the aid of one of the drivers, according to reports.
One person was killed in the crash; the person’s identity, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The total number of people involved in the crash is not known, and no one has been identified.
Investigators are working to understand the crash.
