Crash near Ranchita Kills One Person, Injures Another
RANCHITA, CA (December 30, 2021) – On Wednesday afternoon in north San Diego County, a two-vehicle crash killed one person and injured another. The December 29 crash occurred on San Felipe Road, close to mile marker 1100.
The time was roughly 2:51 p.m., California Highway Patrol said.
Two vehicles collided on San Felipe Road, which is a dirt road. No details have been reported on what led to the crash.
One of the vehicles was described as a Ford Focus; the other vehicle has not been described.
Responders found one person was killed in the crash. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Responders transported one person to Palomar Medical Center, according to Jim Bettencourt. Bettencourt is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
