Vehicle Crashes into Liquor Store in North Hollywood, Killing Woman and One Other; Others Injured
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (March 15, 2021) – On Saturday in North Hollywood, a vehicle crashed into a liquor store, killing two people and injuring others. The March 13 incident occurred on West Oxnard Street in the 11000 block.
The time was roughly 6:30 p.m., Joe Lopez said. Lopez is a battalion chief with Los Angeles Fire.
According to Lopez, a vehicle crashed into two vehicles that had been parked on the street close to where the liquor store–described as Vineland Wine Center–is located. The vehicle–described as a Saturn sedan, gray in color–had been traveling on Vineland Avenue and heading south when it went out of the driver’s control.
According to Brian Wendling, who is a captain with Los Angeles Police, the Saturn went off the roadway. A person inside the store was struck and killed. The identity of the victim has not been reported.
A person who had been traveling as a passenger in the Saturn was also killed. The person was not identified by authorities, but according to reports, she was identified by family as Briana Wolfe, 17 years old.
The person who had been driving the vehicle suffered injuries that were described as critical. The person’s identity has not been reported.
Other people who had been traveling in the Saturn were injured. Their injuries have not been described, nor their identities reported.
Two people who had been sitting in an SUV that was parked on the street, and that had been struck, suffered injuries described as minor. Their identities have not been reported.
The building was damaged in the crash. The owner of the building has not been identified.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
