Car Smashes into Stanton Optical Eyeglass Store on Highland Avenue in National City
NATIONAL CITY, CA (March 16, 2021) – Early in the morning on Tuesday, an eyeglass store in National City was damaged when a vehicle smashed into it. The March 16 incident occurred at Stanton Optical, located on Highland Avenue close to where East Plaza Boulevard is located.
The time was roughly 4:45 a.m.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened, or what line of travel the vehicle–described as a Toyota, silver in color–had been taking prior to hitting the store.
The driver has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. Reports say the direct was not hurt in the crash.
The building was damaged in the incident, but the amount of damage has not been reported. An engineer was requested to come to the scene to evaluate the structure.
Neither the owner of the business, nor the owner of the building has been identified.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and they are in the process of collecting information necessary for that effort.
