Car Crashes and Overturns on 30th Street in National City, Trapping Teenagers
NATIONAL CITY, CA (March 6, 2020) – Early in the morning on Friday, a car crashed and overturned in National City, trapping a teen driver and passenger. The March 6 incident occurred on 30th Street where Highland Avenue intersects.
The time was roughly 2:15 a.m., National City Police said.
Reports say a Good Samaritan who was driving in the area saw the wrecked vehicle and heard screams. The vehicle was overturned, and had damaged an electrical box in the area.
The man who spotted the wreck went to help the victims. He helped the driver out of the wreckage, and then he and the teenager worked to free the passenger.
Responders arrived and transported the passenger to a hospital. The types of injuries the person suffered, and current condition, are not known. The identity of the passenger, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The teenaged driver has not been identified, and reports say the person did not appear to be injured.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened by collecting details and information.
