San Diego Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on I-8 Near Mountain Springs Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 1, 2021) – On Saturday afternoon in San Diego, a motorcycle and vehicle collided, killing the rider. The May 29 crash occurred on I-8, near Mountain Springs Road and to the west of it.
The time was roughly 2:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say a motorcycle and a vehicle collided on the eastbound side of the roadway, but the manner in which the crash occurred has not been described.
Responders arrived and found the rider down on the ground on the right shoulder of the road. The rider died at the crash site.
The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
It is not known who the driver of the vehicle had been when the crash occurred. Reports do not say what type of vehicle was involved in the crash, nor if there were any passengers present.
It is not yet known from reports if anyone inside the vehicle was hurt in the crash.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened. At this time, no other details have been reported.
