Miguel Garcia Struck and Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident In Escondido

Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash at Broadway and Mission Avenue

ESCONDIDO, CA (September 18, 2024) — A hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Broadway and Mission Avenue claimed the life of Miguel Garcia.

Escondido Police reported that the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 6:09 a.m. A vehicle, described as a white off-road style SUV with large spare tires and a red jack attached to the back, struck 58-year-old Miguel Leonides Garcia. The driver continued north on Broadway and east on Lincoln Avenue without stopping.

Miguel Garcia Unfortunately Passed In The Hospital From His Injuries

Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported Garcia, a resident of Escondido, to a hospital. Unfortunately, despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his severe injuries.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could help identify the vehicle or the driver to contact Escondido Police.
