South Los Angeles Man Struck and Killed on Western Avenue
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (November 22, 2021) – Early in the morning on Saturday in South Los Angeles, a man was struck and killed in the area of Chesterfield Square. The November 20 crash occurred on Western Avenue near 65th Street.
The time was roughly 5:00 a.m., Los Angeles Police said.
The pedestrian was walking across the street when a vehicle–described as a sedan, white in color–struck him. The driver did not help the victim, but fled the crash site.
While he was on the ground, the victim was struck by a second vehicle. The person driving the second vehicle stopped and called authorities for help.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as 51 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the second vehicle has not been identified in reports.
Investigators are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, who has not been described, and the vehicle.
