San Diego Man Changing Tire on I-805 is Struck and Killed
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 7, 2022) – Early in the morning on Thursday in San Diego, a man who was changing a tire along the roadway of I-805 was struck and killed. The October 6 crash occurred on the southbound side of the freeway, near Adams Avenue and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 3:08 a.m., according to Jesse Matias. Matias is a public information officer with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder, with part of the vehicle in the slow lane.
The victim was changing a tire when a vehicle struck him.
The man died at the crash site. He was identified only as 31 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation.
He was identified only as 22 years old. Reports do not state his name and city of residence.
Investigators are continuing work on the crash to understand the circumstances.
