Hit-and-run Crash at Central Ave. Injures One in Los Angeles; Driver Sought

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 20, 2022) – Early in the morning on Friday in the area of South-Central Los Angeles, a hit-and-run crash injured one person. The June 17 crash occurred where Central Avenue and 41st Street intersect.

The time was roughly 1:50 a.m., Los Angeles Police said.

A vehicle–described as a Mercedes-Benz C300–had been traveling at a fast speed and did not stop when the light was red at the intersection, authorities allege.

The Mercedes collided with a vehicle, described as a Nissan Altima, striking broadside, reports say.

According to authorities, video from a surveillance camera captured the crash.

The suspect hit-and-run driver ran from the crash site.

Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the person who had been driving the Nissan to a hospital in the area.

The victim suffered injuries that were described as severe. The patient’s current condition is not known.

The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Authorities are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, who has not been described.
