Hit-and-run Driver Kills Pedestrian at Main Street Intersection in Los Angeles’ South Park Neighborhood
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 15, 2020) – Early in the morning on Wednesday, a hit-and-run driver killed a pedestrian in a Los Angeles neighborhood. The May 13 incident occurred in South Park, where 47th Place and Main Street intersect.
The time was roughly a little before 4:00 a.m., according to Los Angeles Police.
Reports say the victim had been walking across Main Street within a crosswalk that is marked. A vehicle–described as a sedan, light in color–which had been northbound on Main Street, struck him.
According to reports, a second vehicle–which has not been described–was traveling southbound, and it also hit the victim. Neither of the drivers stopped to help the injured man. Both drivers fled the incident site.
Responders arrived and found the victim had died at the incident site. He was identified only as 67 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the hit-and-run drivers involved in the crash, and the vehicles they were driving. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can call Jose De Leon, who is a detective. The number is 213-833-3713.
