Investigation Underway After Another Fatal Pedestrian Collision
LONG BEACH, CA (May 18, 2025) — Authorities are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred Sunday night at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Santa Fe Avenue, according to the Police Department.
The collision happened around 9 p.m. on May 18, when a vehicle struck a man who was in the roadway. Emergency crews from the L.B.F.D. responded, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Identity of the Victim Has Not Been Released Yet
The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Police say the investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
This incident marks the latest in a troubling series of fatal pedestrian collisions in Long Beach. Just three days earlier, 29-year-old Tung Nguyen Cao was struck and killed at the intersection of Seventh Street and Channel Drive.
