Deadly Motorcycle Crash on I-110 Causes Major Traffic Delays
CARSON, CA (March 17, 2025)  – Julio Rivas Rivera was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident early Sunday morning that led to significant traffic congestion on the northbound I-110 freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard.
The collision, reported at 9:59 a.m. on March 17, involved a motorcycle, ridden by Rivera, and a black SUV or truck, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Officials say the Rivera collided with the vehicle in the No. 4 lane under unknown circumstances, causing him to be ejected from the bike.
Julio Rivas Rivera Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene
Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, the motorcyclist—identified as 24-year-old Julio Rivas Rivera—was pronounced dead. The Los Angeles County Coroner was notified at 11:20 a.m.
Multiple Lanes on The 110 Freeway Were Closed For 3 Hours
The crash prompted authorities to shut down multiple lanes on the northbound I-110, with a SigAlert issued at 10:35 a.m. lasting approximately three hours. The incident caused heavy delays as CHP officers worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the crash.
Officials urge drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while the investigation remains ongoing.
