DUI Arrest For James Martinez After Striking Man Lying In The Road On Hwy 198 in Visalia
Visalia, CA (June 7, 2023) – James Martinez, an Exeter resident, was apprehended by law enforcement authorities after fatally striking a pedestrian in a tragic incident that unfolded on Sunday evening, June 4. The collision occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Highway 198, near Court Street.
Man Had Been Seen Stumbling Along In The Roadway
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), concerned citizens alerted them to a man who appeared to be stumbling in the roadway. Sadly, before the authorities could reach the scene, Martinez’s vehicle collided with the individual lying in the roadway.
The male pedestrian sustained critical injuries from the impact and tragically succumbed to them at the scene. The CHP officials have withheld the victim’s identity pending the notification of his family.
