Driver Fleeing Pursuit Hits Vehicle, Killing Two in Inglewood
INGLEWOOD, CA (April 29, 2021) – On Wednesday night in Inglewood, two people died when a driver, who was fleeing pursuit by officers, struck their vehicle. The April 28 incident occurred on Glasgow Avenue near Olive Street.
The time was roughly a little after 10:36 p.m., according to Franco Pepi. Pepi is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
According to Pepi, officers began to pursue a vehicle–described as a Dodge pickup truck–which was seen going at a fast speed in the vicinity of West Century Boulevard not far from the 405 Freeway.
The pickup truck also went through a light that was red prior to entering the 405 Freeway, according to reports. Officers illuminated their lights, according to Pepi, but the driver would not stop.
Officers pursued the suspect driver, who left the freeway at the exit for Manchester Boulevard. As the pickup truck was heading northbound on Glasgow Avenue, it collided with a vehicle–described as a Nissan sedan.
Responders arrived and found a passenger died at the crash site. She was identified only as 22 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Responders transported the person who had been driving the Nissan to a hospital in the area. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

According to Pepi, reports say, the suspect driver is alleged to have attempted to run from the crash site. Authorities arrested him. His name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
