Crash on 118 Freeway Kills One in Granada Hills, CA
GRANADA HILLS, CA (March 2, 2022) – Late in the morning on Tuesday in Granada Hills, a crash killed a person on the 118 Freeway. The March 1 crash occurred in the eastbound lanes, close to where the transition is located for the 405 Freeway.
The time was roughly 11:45 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened. A vehicle–described only as an SUV–overturned and rolled over a number of times before it came to a stop on the opposite side of the roadway.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department found that a person was killed in the crash. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
A second vehicle in the area was damaged, but it is not clear if the two vehicles collided with each other. The make and model of the second vehicle has not been reported, and the driver has not been identified.
Investigators are working to understand how the crash happened, and why it happened.
