Apartment Building on Kellogg Ave. in Goleta is Struck by Vehicle
GOLETA, CA (April 21, 2021) – Early in the morning on Monday in Goleta, a vehicle crashed into an apartment building, causing damage. The April 19 incident occurred at 135 S. Kellogg Avenue.
The time was roughly a little after 6:00 a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire said.
A man who was driving a pickup truck is alleged to have hit two vehicles–which have not been described–as he was backing up, according to Santa Barbara County Fire. The pickup truck then went forward at a fast speed and smashed into the apartment building, according to the fire department.
According to authorities, injuries did not occur in the incident. The driver was identified only as in his sixties. His name has not been reported.
Crews from Southern California Edison arrived on scene to fix lines that were damaged.
The building was due to be inspected to see if it was still structurally sound and habitable.
The owner of the apartment building has not been identified in reports. The owners of the two parked vehicles that were struck have also not been identified.
Investigators with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office are in the process of examining the details and information to understand the incident.
