Vehicle Hits and Kills Boy at Haster Basin Recreation Park in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (March 19, 2021) – Early in the evening on Thursday in Garden Grove, a vehicle struck and killed a boy. The March 18 incident occurred at Haster Basin Recreation Park on Lampson Avenue, in the parking lot.
The time was roughly 7:00 p.m., Garden Grove Police said.
No details have been reported on the crash. It is not clear where the child was when he was struck, nor where the vehicle–described as an SUV–had been traveling within the parking lot.
Responders arrived and transported the boy to a hospital in the area. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital. He was 6 years old.
The boy’s family has not been identified in reports.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
