Fresno, CA (October 3, 2023) – A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after a pedestrian accident unfolded at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Abby Street in central Fresno on Saturday afternoon.
10-Year-old Boy Was Collecting Donations For A Funeral For A Family Member
The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. on September 30, as confirmed by the Fresno Police Department. According to authorities, the child was actively engaged in collecting donations in the vicinity for a family member’s funeral when tragedy struck. A vehicle traveling east on Abby Street collided with the young boy.
The conscientious driver involved in the incident immediately pulled over and dialed 911 for emergency assistance. Paramedics swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the critically injured child to Community Regional Medical Center for urgent medical care.
No Drugs or Alcohol Were Involved In The Incident
As of now, the investigation indicates that drugs and alcohol are not contributing factors to the crash. However, law enforcement continues to scrutinize the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the root cause.
