Fresno, CA (February 12, 2024) – A multi-car accident involving a big rig occurred on Highway 99 near Chestnut Avenue, resulting in one person sustaining injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP Reports 1 Hurt, Multi-Car Accident Involving Big Rig on Highway 99
The incident unfolded around 11:00 a.m. on Monday, as per CHP reports. Initial investigations suggest that the driver of an SUV was traveling at an excessive speed for the prevailing traffic conditions. In an attempt to switch lanes, the SUV clipped the rear of a big rig, causing it to spin out of control and overturn.
The overturned vehicle subsequently collided with two other vehicles, involving a total of six individuals in the collision.
Paramedics Swift Response Helped Get Victim To Hospital
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, with paramedics attending to the injured. One person was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
While authorities have not yet determined whether factors such as distracted driving, speeding, or impairment contributed to the accident, further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
