Deadly Crash Leaves 3 Dead on Highway 101 near Ukiah, CA
Ukiah, CA (April6, 2023) – A single-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning claimed the lives of three individuals on Highway 101 near Pomo Lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 6:12 a.m. and resulted in a fiery explosion that engulfed the vehicle.
The driver of a 2001 Toyota Echo traveling northbound on the highway veered off the east edge of the road for unknown reasons. The vehicle then crashed into a tree, causing significant front-end damage. Within moments, a fire broke out and the driver and two unidentified passengers were unable to escape. All three individuals perished at the scene.
The authorities have not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The incident is still under investigation by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
