Bakersfield Driver who Crashed into Kern County Deputy’s Patrol Vehicle Arrested on Suspicion of Hit-and-run
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 1, 2021) – On Saturday, an alleged hit-and-run driver crashed into a Kern County deputy’s patrol vehicle, and fled the scene. The suspect driver was arrested on Monday by the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the crash occurred on Virginia Street close to where Niles Street is located. The driver is alleged to have left the scene of the crash.
Responders arrived and took the deputy to the hospital for treatment. The deputy suffered injuries that were described as moderate. The deputy’s identity has not been reported.
On Monday, authorities arrested Abram Parra-Pantoja–27 years old–on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, and felony DUI.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
