Camarillo DUI Wrong-Way Crash Leaves 2 Seriously Injured

2 Injured in DUI Wrong-Way Accident on Hwy 101 in Camarillo
Camarillo, CA (April 14, 2024) – Two individuals sustained injuries in a DUI-related wrong-way collision on Highway 101 near Camarillo Springs Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The two-vehicle crash occurred after midnight on Sunday, involving a 24-year-old driver from Santa Barbara who was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 due to driving under the influence. The wrong-way driver’s 2008 Honda Civic collided head-on with another Honda Civic driven by a 44-year-old man from Port Hueneme.
Both Drivers Were Transported Immediately To Los Robles Regional Medical Center
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the collision and transported both drivers to Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Additionally, Ventura County Fire Department paramedics attended to several occupants in the other nine vehicles involved in the crash.
CHP traffic investigators identified DUI as the likely cause of the accident and subsequently arrested the 24-year-old driver. Anyone with additional information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the CHP.
