Young Arvin Woman Killed when Suspected Street Racer Crashes into Her Car in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 4, 2022) – Bianca Danielle Flores was killed on Wednesday night in Bakersfield when a suspected street racer crashed into her car. The coroner’s office identified the 19 year old victim, who was a resident of Arvin.

According to Bakersfield Police, a vehicle–described as a Ford Mustang–had been racing against a motorcycle. Police say the Mustang went into the lane of opposing traffic, and collided head on with an oncoming vehicle.

Fire erupted in the Mustang. Reports say the motorcycle rider fled the crash site.

Responders arrived and found that the person who was driving the vehicle that was hit died at the crash site. The victim was later identified as Flores.

Responders transported a woman who had been traveling as a passenger with Flores to the hospital. She suffered injuries that were described as moderate.

Her identity has not been reported.

Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of murder, vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, engaging in a motor vehicle speed contest, and reckless driving with great bodily injury.

He was identified as Iqbal Singh, 35 years old.

The motorcyclist has not been described in reports.

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
