Man Killed in Collision Involving Semi-truck and Car on Highway 99 in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 25, 2020) – Julian Manney was killed early in the morning on Sunday in a collision involving a semi-truck and a car on Highway 99 in Bakersfield. The March 22 incident occurred near Taft Highway, and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 4:09 a.m., according to Kern County Fire.
Reports say a semi-truck and a sedan—which has not been described—collided on Highway 99. No details have been reported on how the collision occurred.
Responders arrived and found the semi-truck had turned over onto its side.
The person who had been driving the car died from his injuries. He was identified as Julian Manney, 59 years old.
The person who had been driving the truck suffered injuries that were described as moderate. His current condition is not known. The identity of the truck driver, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
