Baker 2 Vehicle Crash Leaves 9 Hospitalized On 15 Freeway

Nine Hospitalized in Two-Car Crash on 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County
BAKER, CA (June22, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash near Baker on the I-15 Freeway hospitalized nine people Sunday morning in San Bernardino County, according to officials.
Crews from County Fire’s Baker Station 53 reached the scene shortly after 5 a.m. on June 22. The collision involved a Toyota minivan and a black Honda sedan.
The crash occurred in the southbound lanes north of Baker, San Bernardino County Fire reported. While the department has not confirmed how the vehicles collided, photos posted to X show both cars badly damaged and resting in the brush off the freeway
Both Vehicles Ended Up Off The Interstate With Significant Damage
One black sedan sustained extensive front-end damage, while the other car—possibly a silver or gray Prius—appeared covered in dirt with front and top-end damage, along with a crushed roof and windshield. The photos did not show either car’s rear.
Firefighters said crews dispatched four ground ambulances and three medical helicopters, temporarily shutting down traffic to allow each helicopter to land on the freeway. They later dispatched a fourth helicopter to meet one of the ambulances at a local hospital and continue the patient’s transport.
All 9 People Involved Suffered Significant Injuries
San Bernardino County Fire responded to a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 on Sunday morning and managed a scene that led to nine people being transported to regional hospitals, including four by medical helicopter.
Although no fire broke out and no extrication’s were needed, officials determined that all nine adults required treatment and transport for injuries ranging from moderate to severe. Authorities did not release the patients’ identities or conditions.
County Fire later reopened the freeway to traffic.
