Officer Injured and 2 Arrested in DUI Pursuit Collision Near Arvin
Arvin, CA (April 3, 2024) – A law enforcement officer sustained minor injuries in a DUI-related car accident on Bear Mountain Road near Arvin. The incident occurred on April 3 around 9:00 p.m. and involved a blue Mustang.
Arvin Police officers reported that the accident transpired when an officer attempted to pull over the Mustang driver, who was observed driving at a high rate of speed. The driver, however, chose to evade the officer by driving over the median in the wrong direction, ultimately losing control of the vehicle.
Mustang Was Driving Erratic At A High Rate of Speed Before Crash Occurred
In a dangerous turn of events, the Mustang driver then veered towards the police cruiser, resulting in a head-on collision. The impact caused minor injuries to the officer. Both occupants of the Mustang were subsequently detained on suspicion of driving under the influence.
