Cerritos Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision with Party Bus
CERRITOS, CA (June 1, 2021) – Early in the morning on Sunday in Cerritos, Anthony Tyrone Boyd Jr. was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a party bus. The May 30 crash occurred on the 91 Freeway on the westbound side, near Shoemaker Avenue.
The time was roughly 2:35 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Boyd had been riding in the carpool lane, and traveled rightward into the number 2 lane. The front of the motorcycle collided with the party bus’s back end, authorities believe.
Responders arrived and pronounced Boyd deceased at the crash site. He was a resident of Long Beach, 37 years old.
The party bus’s driver was identified as Padashi Cyrus, a resident of Arcadia, 61 years old. Reports do not say if Cyrus was hurt in the crash.
Investigators are working to understand why the motorcycle crash happened. They are in the process of collecting information.
