Police Chase Ends With 12-Year-Old DeadOn October 27, 2014 at approximately 7:43 pm Cody Brown, 20, experienced a freak accident that took his  life. The accident remains a mystery.

On that day Mr. Brown was in the car with his mother, 47 year old Gina Brown-Robison, drifting; a motor sport in which the driver over steers, loosing traction but continuing to control the car.

Brown and his mother were returning from Las Vegas where they were visiting Brown’s grandparents.

Brown was following a truck headed north on Interstate 5. A southbound tractor trailer approached them. Apparently the axle failed and the rim and assembly broke off and rolled into the middle of the highway. The wheel hit the side of the truck and then struck the windshield of Brown’s car, killing him instantly. Gina Brown-Robison escaped with minor injuries.

The car hit the guardrail and came to a rest on an embankment. The truck with the broken rim and assembly has not been found. Inquiries have produced no clues.

There were delays in the insurance coverage which caused problems with paying for the funeral.

The family is accepting donations.

Anyone with information regarding the accident, please call the California Highway Patrol at its Modesto office at 209-545-7440.
