Car Crashes Into Suspected Marijuana Grow HouseA warehouse in Huntington Park is under investigation of criminal activity after a car crashed into it during a police chase, according to a Sargent from the California Highway Patrol’s Special Investigation Unit.

The smell of marijuana came from the building while investigators worked inside as they’re working to determine whether it is illegal or medical marijuana. The building is on the intersection of Alameda Street and Gage Avenue.

California Highway Patrol say the pursuit started after one of their officers tried to pull the car over for reckless driving around 1:00 a.m. Friday.

At the intersection where the building is located, the suspect lost control of his vehicle and hit the building, leaving a massive hole in the side. According to officials, the car was traveling between 70 and 80 mph.

The man was conscious and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

“I always smell something, I thought it was gas at first, but I think it’s marijuana,” said Irene Castellanos in an interview.

The initial driving suspect could still be facing reckless driving charges. It is not clear who owns the 6,000 warehouse that was crashed into or whether they will be facing any charges at this time.
