Metro Train Collides With Car In Downtown Los AngelesOne man was injured Thursday when a Metro Train collided with his car in downtown Los Angeles, said officials. The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Flower Street, Erik Scott said, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The 21-year-old man received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. A 55-year-old woman also received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital as well for treatment. The man injured was on the train, while the woman was pulled from the car.

No other passengers were injured and were safely removed from the train, according to officials.

The train, the southbound Expo Line, was knocked slightly off its tracks, but firefighters, along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Metro officials were on the scene assisting in off-loading passengers. The train was expected to be delayed from 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how long it took officials and crews to place the train back on its tracks.

No charges  have been filed against the woman driving the car and investigators are investigating what the cause of the crash was.
