POMONA, CA (July 2, 2025)— A fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian shut down part of the westbound I-10 Freeway early Wednesday morning in Pomona, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at 3:34 a.m. on July 2, just west of North White Lane. Authorities say a driver struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene. The victim died from their injuries at the location.
The 10 Freeway Was Partially Shut Down For Authorities To Clean Up and Investigate
The incident prompted a partial freeway closure, with the White Lane and Garey Avenue on-ramps temporarily blocked as emergency crews responded. A request for the Los Angeles County Sheriff-Coroner was made at approximately 4:30 a.m.
The identity of the victim, including their age and gender, has not yet been released pending family notification.
CHP investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the crash and to identify the driver involved. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
