Pedestrian Killed on 710 Freeway Connector Identified
LONG BEACH, CA (6/24/2025) — Kurtis Haynes, 40 was fatally struck Tuesday night while walking on a freeway transition road near the interchange of the 405 and 710 freeways in Long Beach, authorities confirmed.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 8:55 p.m. on June 24, where the incident occurred on a connector road linking the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway.
Drivers of the 2 Vehicles Involved Actually Stayed And Cooperated With Authorities
Two vehicles believed to be involved in the collision remained at the scene, officials said.
The victim, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office as 40-year-old Kurtis Haynes, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances leading up to the crash that killed Haynes remain under investigation by the CHP.
