Early Morning Crash on 405 Near Getty Center Leaves Man Dead
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 16, 2025) — Sidney Mosby, a 67-year-old man was killed in a deadly collision early Monday morning on the northbound 405 Freeway, just south of Getty Center Drive, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on June 16 and involved at least two vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). One vehicle was reportedly stopped on the right shoulder facing west, while another was disabled in the carpool (HOV) lane.
Sidney Mosby Was Declared Dead At The Scene of The Crash
Emergency responders, including CHP units and the Los Angeles Fire Department, arrived on scene within minutes. By 3:45 a.m., paramedics had arrived with an ambulance, and a request was made for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. The victim, identified as Sidney Mosby, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A silver Nissan Altima with severe front-end damage was among the vehicles involved. Tow trucks from All City Tow were called to assist in clearing the wreckage.
Traffic Was Temporarily Diverted While Authorities Cleaned Up
In the aftermath of the crash, traffic was temporarily diverted at Getty Center Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard to allow emergency crews to conduct operations and begin an investigation.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area during the morning commute and use alternate routes. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
