Rollover Crash on Highway 79 Leaves 1 Teen Killed and Two Teens Injured
TEMECULA, CA (April 13, 2025) – Preston Obeidin, a 19-year-old man from Long Beach was killed and two other teenagers were injured in a solo-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning in Temecula, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on April 13 along State Route 79, just south of Anza Road.
Preston Obeidin Was Driving A 1998 Toyota 4Runner When He Lost Control And Crashed
The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau identified the deceased driver as Preston Obeidin. According to investigators, Obeidin was driving a 1998 Toyota 4Runner when he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and struck a telephone pole on the dirt shoulder. The SUV then overturned, landing on its roof. Obeidin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers, both 19-year-old males, were also injured in the crash. One was seated in the front with a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries, while the other, who was unrestrained in the back seat, suffered major injuries and was trapped inside the wreckage.

Riverside County Fire Used Hydraulic Rescue Tools To Rescue the Back Seat Passenger
Firefighters from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene and used hydraulic rescue tools to free the injured back-seat passenger. Both survivors were transported to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
