Santa Barbara 2-Car Crash on Highway 1 Injures 4

4 Injured, Including a Child, in 2-Car Crash on Hwy 1 Near Santa Lucia Canyon Road
SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 29, 2024) — A two-car accident on Highway 1 near Santa Lucia Canyon Road left four people injured, including a minor, on Sunday evening. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., near Vandenberg Space Force Base.
The collision involved two vehicles, though the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Paramedics from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department transported three adults with moderate to severe injuries to Marian Regional Medical Center. A young girl was also taken to Lompoc Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities Closed Highway 1 Temporarily In Both Directions To Investigate The Crash
Highway 1 was temporarily closed in both directions as authorities investigated the crash.
The CHP is asking for any witnesses who may have information about the incident to contact them. Drivers are reminded to avoid distractions and practice safe driving habits, such as maintaining distance and obeying speed limits, to reduce the risk of accidents.
