Fatal Tulare County Head-On Collision on Road 188, near Avenue 232, Leaves Young Man Dead

22 Year Old Man Killed After Slamming Into Flatbed Tow Truck
TULARE COUNTY, CA (September 18, 2024) — A 22-year-old man died in a crash on Road 188 near Avenue 232 outside of Lindsay, CA, on Monday, according to the Tulare County Fire Department.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Tulare County Fire Department reported that the fatal two-vehicle crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. The 22-year-old, driving a northbound GMC, began weaving in and out of his lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a southbound flatbed truck.
Authorities Have Confirmed The Driver Veered Into Oncoming Traffic
Investigators confirmed that the man, from Tulare, veered left into the oncoming lane, directly in the path of the flatbed truck. The collision happened shortly after the man lost control of the vehicle.
Minutes after the CHP and paramedics arrived, the man succumbed to his severe injuries. His identity has not been released, and the other driver was not injured.
Detectives are actively investigating the cause of the crash, including the possibility that DUI may have been involved.
