Escondido Rollover Crash Leaves 1 Dead on 15 Freeway

1 Killed in Rollover Crash on 15 Fwy in Escondido
Escondido, CA (May 21, 2024) – A 19-year-old man from Murrieta was killed in a rollover accident on the 15 Freeway near Deer Springs Road early Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). For reasons still under investigation, a Chevrolet Silverado and a Ford F-150 collided on the northbound freeway. The Chevrolet overturned multiple times, coming to rest on the right-hand shoulder, while the Ford spun out and veered toward the center divider.
19 Year Old Female Passenger Was Taken To The Hospital With Serious Injuries
Paramedics arrived minutes later and declared the Silverado driver deceased at the scene. His name has not been released.
The 19-year-old female passenger in the Silverado was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 24-year-old driver of the Ford from Descanso and his passenger were uninjured.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the accident, though impairment is not suspected to be a factor.
