19-Year-Old Driver Falls Asleep and Crashes Parents Audi

San Diego, CA – A teen driver is transported to the hospital by his parents after he crashes their car near Sea World Thursday night.

The nineteen-year-old was driving his parents Audi sedan near Sea World on Interstate-5 when he fell asleep behind the wheel around midnight. According to San Diego 10 News, the driver was shaken awake when the vehicle began rolling at about midnight. He was the only person in the sedan at the time of the crash.

The vehicle rolled over off the shoulder and landed back on its wheels. The roof was smashed in on the driver’s side and the windshield was cracked and began to peel off. At that point the driver called his parents telling them he was wanted to flee the scene because he was unlicensed. They urged him to stay.

When the parents arrived to the scene they transported their son to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
