1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Head-On Crash on Carbon Canyon Road in Brea
BREA, CA (March 22, 2023) – On the evening of March 20th, a head-on collision occurred on Carbon Canyon Road in Brea, resulting in one fatality and two individuals sustaining injuries.
At 8:01 p.m., the Brea Police Department received a report of a collision and promptly responded to the scene on Carbon Canyon Road, east of Olinda Village. Upon arrival, it was determined that the collision involved two vehicles in a head-on impact, according to the Brea Police Department.
Police reported that the driver of one of the vehicles sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and a passenger of the other vehicle sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. Both were taken to different hospitals for treatment, as per the police. The road where the accident occurred connects Brea and Chino Hills.
The Traffic Division of the department is currently investigating the cause of the crash and has not yet determined the factors that led to the collision. Sgt. Mike Woodroof of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the driver who passed away in the collision was identified by coroner officials on Tuesday as 20-year-old Santa Ana resident, Nguyen Nguyen Khoa Dinh.
