Crash on 210 Freeway, In Tujunga, Kills Two when Car Hits Truck
TUJUNGA, CA (May 25, 2022) – Late at night on Tuesday in Tujunga, a car crashed on the 210 Freeway, killing two people. The May 24 crash occurred at La Tuna Canyon Road, on the westbound side of the freeway.
The time was roughly a little before midnight, the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–described as a Honda Civic–had been traveling on the freeway when it struck a box truck parked beside the road.
After striking the box truck, the Honda traveled up the embankment, and came back down. The Honda struck a big rig that was also parked beside the road.
Responders arrived and found the Honda lodged beneath the big rig; one person inside the Honda was killed.
The other person who was killed in the crash was the driver of the box truck. According to the big rig driver–who witnessed the incident–the box truck driver had been outside of the vehicle and urinating at the roadside when the crash happened.
The big rig driver was uninjured in the incident.
No one involved in the crash has been identified.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
