LOS ANGELES, CA (March 24, 2022) – Late in the afternoon on Wednesday in Los Angeles, a service vehicle at the site of the L.A. Metro Purple Line Extension Project killed a construction worker.

The March 23 incident occurred in the tunnel underground, at 711 S. La Brea Avenue, where the Wilshire/La Brea metro station will eventually be located.

Reports say that according to Kenneth Miller, who is a Battalion Chief, the construction worker died when a service vehicle trapped him beneath it.

The person was killed in the incident. He was identified only as 32 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

His death was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
