Crash Kills One Teen Driver, Injures Another Teen Driver in Fallbrook, CA
FALLBROOK, CA (December 27, 2021) – Early in the morning on Thursday in Fallbrook, a crash killed one teen driver and injured another teen driver. The December 23 crash occurred on South Mission Road near Stagecoach Lane.
The time was roughly 2:45 a.m., according to Hunter Gerber. Gerber is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles–described as a Subaru BRZ coupe and a Subaru Outback–had been heading south on South Mission Road, traveling next to each other, according to Gerber.
The driver of the BRZ traveled toward the left and went off the road. The BRZ hit a number of trees, the officer said.
The Outback struck debris that occurred from the BRZ’s crash, he added.
Responders arrived and found the driver of the BRZ died at the crash site. He was identified only as a resident of Fallbrook, 19 years old. His name has not been reported.
The driver of the Outback was identified only as resident of Vista, 18 years old. His name has also not been reported.
The Outback driver stayed at the crash site. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of reckless driving, reports say.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call the California Highway Patrol.
